A member asked:

My daughter's lip balm has willow bark in it way at the bottom of the ingredients list. (not listed as an active ingredient) i thought kids should use that product?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Willow bark: Willow bark contains salicin which is similar to aspirin. Aspirin is to be avoided in children due to risk of Reyes Syndrome a serious liver condition. Probably best to use a lip balm that does not contain willow bark.
