What would be causing my gums to continue to throb daily after 1 year ago extraction of 8 upper teeth?

Contact DDS: What is replacing the teeth that were extracted? Perhaps the appliance is impinging on the gingiva and is illfitting. See your dentist for an evaluation and options of replacing the missing teeth.

Denture: If your teeth were replaced with a removable appliance such as a partial or full denture, that appliance is likely rubbing on or digging into the gums. If not there are a host of other possibilities. The only way to know for sure the cause of the pain and the remedy is to see your own local dentist.

Good question: Most obvious cause would be irritation from denture in need of revision or from chewing on the ridge itself without denture in place. There are, however, numerous other possible causes. Have you returned to your Dentist for reevaluation? If not, please do so.
