Dose-dependent drug: Doctors define constipation as stools less frequently than once every 3-4 days. Patients feel they are "constipated" when passing hard or small volume stool, or they feel full & bloated. We can't tell from your question if this is a one-time problem or a recurrent and progressive one. Also, we don't know if you're blocked, if your gut is sluggish, or your rectum works correctly. Consult your doc.

Try enema: If laxative has not worked, you may try Fleet's enema. The medication is available over the counter at drug stores. Drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless and increase your intake of fiber by taking Metamucil or fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods.
