Depending: on the technical factors of the scan, highly sensitive for detecting lung cancer, less so so for esophageal cancers. Small esophageal cancers may be undetectable on CT, endoscopy is the best way to evaluate for that possibility(also biopsy can be performed at the time of endoscopy).
