Please call your doc: Today to discuss this. This is a concern, because there was a reason you had a transvaginal ultrasound done and that reason has not been disclosed. Are you currently pregnant? Was the procedure done to look at the position of an intrauterine device? Was it done to look for an abscess/infection or to examine the uterus for abnormal bleeding? The doctor who ordered the test needs to know about this.

Not usually: An vaginal ultrasound usually does not cause PID. The abdominal pain needs to be evaluated by the GYN MD who performed the ultrasound.
