If there is a high index of suspicion with the presenting symptoms, Hypothyroidism is not hard to diagnose. Yes thyroid Function test can help but sometimes in addition to physical examination one's M.D may do additional studies & imaging

Yes.: Hypothyroidism can you be easily diagnosed with thyroid function test. That is a simple blood test. There should be no trouble and getting diagnosed if that is present. Good luck.
