Blood: Most common cause is hemorrhoid (internal or external). Are you having any diarrhea? Viral or bacterial infections can cause this. What is your diet like? Please consult with us so we can discuss further as blood on tissue with anal pain has many possible diagnoses and a Rx will help. Also want to be sure it is not cancer which is rare.

See your doctor.: The two most likely causes of your bleeding are hemorrhoids or anal fissure. You need to have an exam to sort this out, so that you can begin treatment. I would see your doctor or a gastroenterologist. In the meantime, eating more fiber and drinking plenty of fluids is a good idea. Good luck.

Exam needed: Would advise to see your doc for an exam. Most likely hemorrhoid/fissure. In the interim avoid constipation, keep area clean. You may also try an over the counter suppository, such as preparation H, but that should not substitute the exam as alternate, not as common causes are possible. In the long range avoiding constipation, hard stools will be key.
