BE PATIENT !: You might have a hematoma (collection of blood) and this needs HEAT to be reabsorbed (increase circulation and allow some "clean up" white blood cells reach the area. Afetr 72 hours of ice...heat packs ..... You lip will resolve! Hope this helps! Dr Z
