NO!: As a general rule, do NOT drink alcohol while taking medications (either Rx or OTC). You must ensure you are drinking adequate amounts of water while taking valacyclovir as this drug is metabolized by your kidneys. Please follow-up with the medical provider who provided you with the Rx for valacyclovir for further instructions.
