Yes/problems: There are STD's, chlamydia and gonorrhea to be specific that can travel up to your Fallopian tubes and invade/scar them to the point natural pregnancy is not possible. This can occur even if you have no early symptoms and how long it tales is unknown. Significant symptoms and complications of these or other STD's usually drive patients in to be seen, but may take time to emerge.

Most tests OK: The most important tests (gonorrhea, chlamydia) are equally accurate during menstruation. Diagnosis of vaginal infections like bacterial vaginosis or yeast are less accurate, especially if a tampon is used in the hours before testing. Probably safe to delay until period is over, but no more. Delay risks complications like pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which can be very serious.
