A member asked:

Can you have trace mitral regurgitation but no heart murmur?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mitral regurgitation: Our echocardiogram studies are so sensitive that they frequently show tiny amounts of insignificant valve leak, with trace mitral regurgitation being the commonest of these. It is not a concern. To have a murmur you have to have enough turbulent blood flow to make an audible noise.
