Higher than average: Women with immediate family members who've had breast cancer have a higher risk than those who don't - that make sense. But, your chances are still only about 15%. And, like your relatives, the vast majority of women who get breast cancer survive, about 92%.So, you should not smoke, keep a good weight, and eat a lower fat diet. Do recommended surveillance. Self exams, etc. Good luck.
