Spider bite, worst?: This could be any number of bug bites. If a serous spider bite you will have a 'bull's eye' around the bite site. Otherwise, a bite will have a surrounding area of redness and swelling. Application of over the counter cortisone cream should resolve this over a 2-3 days period; if it persits beyond that, see your PCP

You are: correct in drawing that line...It may very well be infected! (The red line may represent lymphatic spread of infection) Suggest you get "hands on" consultation (An ER or Urgent Care center if your Primary Care physician cannot see you within next 24 hours!!)
