Both have their: benefits. I have always found zyprexa to have a robust anti-psychotic effect but it often leads to weight gain & issues with lipids or blood sugar. I tend to select seroquel more often when I am looking for more sedation.

Very different: Generally, Seroquel has little antipsychotic effect below 350mg/day (this is not a starting dose); Zyprexa can improve psychosis in as small a dose as 2.5mg/day, though is used to 20mg/day or sometimes even more. Both are effective agents with considerable side effects. See: https://academic.oup.com/schizophreniabulletin/article/40/2/314/1944491/Dose-Equivalents-for-Second-Generatio

Depends: Great question, tough to say definitively because there's a few things to consider. Clinical efficacy depends more on the individual. Some people respond better to some drugs than others, despite them being in the same sub-class. Likewise, some people have a greater risk for side effects from one med compared to another. Both aspects are usually dose related. Hope this helps
