Possibly reflux?: Hi Depends on where exactly on your abdomen you are having symptoms. In some individuals, as we age, our risk for things like heartburn and gastritis increases. Alcohol on an empty stomach can cause these symptoms directly sometimes. It also has a relaxing effect on the muscles in your lower esophagus that can lead to acid refluxing up into the esophagus easier. Hope this helps
