Swelling: It's not unusual to have more swelling following a surgical procedure such as the extraction of a tooth. Having said that, you should call the dentist who actually treated you, report your symptoms, and discuss if it's normal or not and whether or not he/she wants to see you for an evaluation or prescribe anything.

Yes: You had infection followed by surgery. Expect some swelling. Should begin to go down in 48 hours. You may require antibiotic coverage. If concerned, call your Surgeon or treating Dentist for follow-up.
