A member asked:

How are exams performed during gynecologist visits?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

With the doctor's...: With his hands, eyes, ears, and nose. A stethoscope helps him hear sounds in the chest and abdomen. Several types of electric lights help him better see the mouth, throat, vulva, vagina, and cervix. Magnifying glasses are sometimes used. A vaginal speculum holds the vaginal walls apart so he can look inside. Gloves protect his hands as he checks inside the vagina with 2 fingers. All very routine.
