Started taking slo niacin today and had a flush about 4 hours after taking. how long will it last and can it be prevented. it is uncomfortable so i m?

Hours: flush due to extended release niacin generally lasts for hours. some physicians recommend aspirin or another nsaid (if you tolerate them) 30 minutes prior to taking fast-acting niacin. In this case, taking them a few hours after the extended release niacin may work better. Would also suggest taking with food and avoiding other triggers like alcohol or hot liquids.
