1-2 days, but...: Did a doctor prescribe doxycycline, or are you treating yourself, perhaps with antibiotic left over from another infection? Doxy is not used very often for UTI; it usually would work, but other drugs are more commonly used, such as levofloxacin (Levaquin), sulfa-trimethoprim (Bactrim), or nitrofurantoin (Macrodantin). With effective Rx, urinary pain should start to improve in 1-2 days.
