Spotting; 10 days : Implantation bleeding is more of spotting rather than frank bleeding. You may do hpt about 10-14 days after that, though it would be better to wait 4-5 days after missed period to do the hpt, use first morning urine and follow the instructions in the kit carefully.

Implantation: There is usually no bleeding with implantation. It is not a period. When there is bleeding it is usually a tiny amount and it doesn't keep recurring over time. Most women wait until they miss a period to take a home pregnancy test or wait till no period for seven days.
