Many years, if at al: The grade of the biopsy matters in terms of the risk for development of cancer. The risk is relatively small(less than one in ten cases) and it takes many years(>5-10 years) if it ever occurs. So follow your gastroenterologist's advice for check ups at least once yearly.

Hello doctors!! I know that you cannot predict with certainty...BUT....I am having a colonoscopy. Thank God I do not have any overt symptoms. FOBT negative. Is it possible to have colon cancer (advanced) or other serious disease(s) with no symptoms?
