Adult acne occurs after age 25. Causes are excess oil production, clogged pores by sticky skin cells, bacteria and inflammation. Hormones and stress changes oil production. Skin and hair care products can clog pores. To prevent, limit use of makeup, use oil free skin products, wear sunscreen.
