A member asked:

Can my boy live normally without pituitary gland, though he it 12 years old and he is still a kid not going through fertility. and what aspects i shou?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pituitary deficiency: Your son should be under the care of an endocrinoloogist, who can provide him with growth hormone injections, thyroid and cortisol supplements if needed, and can give male hormone injections to stimulate puberty. Average onset of puberty for boys is age 12, but can be 2-3 years later, so optimize height before starting, as growth plates close after 3-4 year of male hormone. Good health is poss.
