BC and Plan B: Plan B can cause spotting and bleeding during the following cycle. Not unusual for this to happen. Use Plan B ONLY if you have not been consistent with BC. Also do a home pregnancy test 3 weeks after unprotected sex to determine if you are pregnant. BC pills when taken properly are 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. Plan B is 95% effective when taken within 24 hours of unprotected sex.
