Hives: Hives are an allergic reaction. There are many possible causes of hives-foods, medications, infections, inflammatory or autoimmune conditions. Some women can be allergic to hormones and get a Progesterone or estrogen dermatitis that can look like hives. Hives lasting more than 6 weeks need a workup to look for causes.
