Vague Finger Pain: Did you hurt it? Smash it with a hammer? Twist it? Burn it? Where does it hurt? What makes it worse? I would recommend you repost with some details and take acetaminophen/paracetamol in the meantime.

More Info: There would be many possible causes. First you didn't say if it was the joint itself. Obviously, trauma would be a common cause. Arthritis and other inflammatory conditions can cause pain but I would expect swelling and warmth. More information is needed to give you a better answer
