I had rectocele repair one year ago. no problems since but was wondering whether anal sex is something i shouldn't try?

Definitely: I can not condone anal sex, especially in view of the surgical repair you have had. Severe trauma could occur including recurrence or worse, loss of control to variable degrees or infection by some nasty diseases. The anus was designed as an exit not an entrance.

No evidence one way: Or another that anal sex is any more likely to damage a rectocele repair than vaginal intercourse.
