Yeast infection?: BV can be difficult to keep in check, but maybe not be the only problem. BV doesn't cause soreness or itching; maybe yeast infection instead (or in addition to BV). Either way, this is unrelated to prostatitis. However, true prostatitis is uncommon in men under 30 (assuming husband about your age), maybe nongonococcal urethritis (NGU)? You could both visit an NHS GUM clinic for expert care.
