Yes: It is not uncommon to need replacements in more than one joint. I joke with my patients : " does that knee have as many miles as that hip had?". Both legs too. Most insurances like 3 months between replacement surgeries. With today's replacement parts, i tell my patients they can expect 15-20 year lifespan, if properly cared for.
