Strangers: Very young babies are most accustomed to the sight, sound and smell and touch of their nearest caretakers. If the uncle is one of the daily caretakers, it is likely that the baby is comfortable with him as well. Don't take it personally.

Stranger danger: In the first months babies will usually accept any caretaker well.By 5-8 months they realize that mom & dad are more nurturing (and around more often) so other adults are not as well accepted and they may cry when near.This is a sign of preference & an early sign of normal brain processing. You don't get smiles & acceptance by blood, you get it by being around & part of their inner circle.
