A member asked:

What are the chances that i could have contracted rabies from a baby rabbit by handling it and its water bowl with a cut under my finger nail?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rabies: Rabies is transmitted from the bite of an infected mammal. 99% of rabid bites in the US come from dogs. Rabbits are not commonly infected with rabies. Raccoons, foxes, skunks and bats can also be infected with rabies. Unlikely to contract rabies from healthy rabbits.
