Exam needed: If the RLQ is tender to the touch and there is persistent pain, appendicitis has to be considered and for this reason an examination by a physician is needed. Another possibility is a muscle strain or inflammation from some recent physical activity. A simple urinalysis and microscopic exam would be helpful in ruling out a urinary tract problem.

More info needed: Hi Ashley, Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. Difficult to say exactly what your symptoms are from but in that area we generally think about GI causes like appendicitis and genitourinary causes. Watch out for other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, fever, pain with urination. It may help narrow down the diagnosis. If the pain persists and is very severe, I'd consider being seen by a local ER.
