Check IUD string: Insert your finger in the vagina and see if you can feel the IUD string coming out of the cervix to let you know that it is in its' proper location. If you do not feel the string or worse you feel the hard plastic of the IUD in the vagina, see your GYN MD immediately. Sometimes IUD's get displaced and will cause pain during intercourse after insertion.
