Varicose vein: is there any newer/current treatment that minimizes the need for a compression stocking afterwards vs. other treatment?

Probably not...: Up to this time, the care you have is reasonable but occasionally surgical procedures may be required to gain some additional help, but always coming with a price. This testifies that doctors have never cured anything for anyone except some infections, but at best they just help people understand and modify something to some degree with or without drugs and / or surgery at reasonable time...

Varicose veins: The thermal ablation procedures are the top choices but do require post procedure compression Newer choices clariven and varithena may not require compression However the ultimate choice should not be the compression stocking but the best choice to treat your varicose veins

COMPRESSION RX.: Compression is recommend following all closure procedures. I only recommend compression for 48 hours. If this is not tolerable by you then just do not wear the compression. You may have more bruising and swelling without the compression but this will improve over time. Whether or not compression post closure will prevent opening of the closure is questionable.
