I was just diagnosed with bronchiospasam yesterday and was put on a high dosage of a steriod. is there anything else i can do to recover quickly?

Yes: You should be provided with an albuterol inhaler to relieve the bronchospasm until the steroid effect takes hold. For long term treatment, inhaled steroid is much safer and oral steroid is usually not indicated except during a severe asthma attack.
