Yes: Everyone has many lymph nodes in the head and neck. They swell up whenever there is injury, infection, or inflammation in the head and neck, and they should shrink back down to their normal size (usually the size of a black-eyed pea or a small bean) a few weeks to a couple months after getting well. Big nodes, painful nodes, mushy nodes, etc., can be checked by one's primary care doctor.
