A male asked:

i am 16 year old boy and my height is 5feet 6 inches and i have started growing beard now. also i regularly masturbate. so can i grow more?

Maybe: Expected final height for males is the average of both parents plus 2-3 inches based on genes alone. You may or may not grow much depending on where you are in the process.A single x-ray of your wrist/hand can show how much if any growth potential you have left.

18-24 months: Very low birth weight babies (under 3 pounds 5 ounces), may take 24 months to reach normal length, but usually remain relatively thin. Low birth weight babies (3 pounds 6 ounces to 5 pounds 8 ounces) will usually catch up by 18 months.

Do girls sleep better than boys?

Dr. Scott Tomaine
Pediatrics 20 years experience
No: Gender has nothing to do with infant sleep. Bad sleep is usually caused by bad habits. Try to start a bedtime routine early and try to get your baby to fall asleep in the crib, by themselves.
A member asked:

What if my child's weight percentile is higher than her height percentile?

2 doctor answers3 doctors weighed in
Dr. Michael Amster
Specializes in Pediatrics
Well, how much? : That may happen, and some or most of it may be genetic. If dad is 5' 6", 200 lbs, the simple fact is that your child's weight percentile may always be higher. Sometimes the weight percentile is a little higher. The more important measurement is the bmi, or body mass index, which gives a much better predictor of obesity. Concentrate on a calorie appropriate, healthy diet with low carb snacks.

What percentage of boys get circumcised as babies?

Dr. Irwin Berkowitz

Variable: It depends on where you live. In the United States most boys are circumcised. In my practice more than 80% are. Certain religions mandate circumcisions. Certain cultures encourage being uncircumcised.

Is it possible that my monochorionic diamniotic twins could be a boy and a girl?

2 doctor answers2 doctors weighed in
Dr. Sheila Goodman
Specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology
No: Mono/di twins can only come from the same embryo, so they are always identical. They will also have a shared placenta which can have blood vessels that so from one placenta to the other. This can cause a condition called twin-to-twin transfusion which can result in severe problems for the babies. Only diamniotic dichorionic twins can be non-identical and boy/girl pairs.
