I just realized i have a lump on my throat. never noticed it until now. does not hurt and does not affect me in any way that i kno..what could it be?

On the outside?: There are lots of different lumps that can happen on the throat area (on the outside, where the neck is). Skin cysts can form. Some people have a deeper cyst that they are born with, that slowly grows over the years (occasionally, they can suddenly grow big enough to be noticeable). The thyroid gland and lymph nodes are in the neck. One's primary doctor can examine a lump to see what it might be.
