Is it safe to use dry q-tips to clean my nostrils? can they cause bleeding and irritation?

In moderation: As the saying goes, "everything in moderation." Gently using Q-tips is ok, but if bleeding or irritation happens in the nose, that may mean one has surpassed the "everything in moderation" guideline.
