A member asked:

Is it possible to have gastritis pain in upper abdomin under right ribs area?

YES. Keep in mind: that other problems can cause pain in that area as well. Structures in that area of the abdomen include the gall bladder and bile ducts, the right upper bend of the colon, the diaphragm and small bowel. Best wishes. Dr. Anne

Need exam and eval : Pain under the right rib area is not typical for gastritis. Gastritis pain is usually in the middle upper part of your abdomen. Your discomfort maybe related to problems with your gallbladder or liver or pancreas. Please go see your doctor to have a thorough exam and work up if this pain persists
