Migraines?: Tension and migraine headaches can cause scalp pain/hair follicle pain. Skin conditions such as psoriasis or dermatitis can cause similar symptoms. Infection of hair follicles can cause pain. Other rare vascular diseases can cause hair and scalp pain. I think an evaluation by a medical person would be indicated
