This certainly does: not sound normal. He may have venous insufficiency in that extremity but it would be important to be evaluated, examined and perhaps tested to be sure it is not something more serious. Make an appointment with your health care provider or a vascular surgeon.

I have had left knee pain off and on for years and several years back a procedure was performed where shaving of some bone spurs was done. My knee pain has come and gone since.
