About the TSH...: Lab result numbers are just numbers, so a primary care doctor should review the whole picture. A TSH above 4 can mean her thyroid gland is having trouble producing enough thyroid hormone. Some patients have symptoms of low thyroid hormone (such as always feeling cold) with TSH values in the 3's and 4's. One's primary care doctor or an endocrinologist can evaluate for subclinical hypothyroidism.
