A member asked:

How bad is anoxic encephalopathy? and is it progressive? could it be the cause of my head aches

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies/no/unlikely: Anoxic encephalopathy is brain damage due to a localized or generalized lack of oxygen. It can vary from unnoticed to actual brain death, with every level in between.Once damaged, the area will remain so,but not extend beyond the nerves lost originally.Function may deteriorate over time as the body adapts to the loss. Some would develop seizures. I would not look at this as a primary cause of HA's
