No: You have no break in your pill taking, so the new pill should protect you straightaway. Wondering why the switch to Yaz? Studies have indicated higher risk of thrombotic (deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism) side effects with Yaz. Hopefully, you concur with the switch.

Once your start,no: Once your period from the Ortho pill comes you can start the Yaz without contraceptive backup as long as you start the new pill as directed.
