Radiology question: what does abnormal signal associated with the articulate carriage of the medial meniscus tibial plateau posteriorly mean?

Knee Degeneration: Wear and tear of the knee can lead to abnormal signals on mri. The meniscus is a large cushion structure in the knee, and can show abnormal signal when it is torn or worn. The decision on treatment will be based on your symptoms. If you have a tear you may benefit from a surgical clean up. Surgery is more predictable at fixing locking. And clicking than relieving pain. Hope that helps. :).

Meniscal tear?: Most likely this is a meniscal tear, or degenerated meniscus. I'd need the images and a more thorough description to help more. Best guess is a tear in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus.
