Snapping Scapula?: The scapula or shoulder blade is connected to the ribcage by muscles. There are several bursa that interpose between these muscles. These can become swollen intermittently. Ganglions can also occur. I doubt that the swelling is filled with air as that would imply a leak in your lungs.
