Toxic Shock Syndrome: With proper treatment, patients usually recover in two to three weeks. If left untreated, it can be fatal. It is very important to always be aware of how many tampons you use and assure they are all accounted for.

Let me explain: If severe shock has occurred and led to kidney, liver, lung, or heart damage long term consequences may require treatment or cause permanent disability. The three major causes of death related to severe tss are as follows: disseminated intravascular coagulation, or dic, which causes uncontrollable bleeding and irreversible shock. With proper treatment, however, people can recover from tss.
