Extremely rare: Death due to pneumonia, with or without influenza, is extremely rare at your age, assuming proper diagnosis, medical care, and antibiotic treatment if recommended by your doctor. Pneumonia deaths are pretty much limited to frail elderly persons and others with severe health problems like bad malnutrition, cancer, AIDS, etc. Follow your doctor's advice and all will be well. Good luck!
