Rock and hard place: Birth control pills do help with endometriosis. However, if the side effects of birth control pills are worse than the pain from the endometriosis, other medications, like Depotprovera, may relieve symptoms of endometriosis.

Stopping BC is OK: You can always stop birth control. Wait until the end of the pack. Also, remember that you can get pregnant immediately, so use another method of birth control. Give it 3 cycles and see if your periods get more painful again. If they do, see your GYN for other options if you do not like taking birth control. Also, use OTC NSAID's like naproxen during your periods to control inflammation/pain
